ELSE
Delete your ELSE account
You can delete your ELSE account at any time. Deleting it removes your profile and everything that identifies you, and you can no longer sign in. Your coach keeps your training history for their statistics, kept with nothing that identifies you.
Delete it in the app
- Open the ELSE app and sign in.
- Go to Profile, then Account Information.
- Under Delete Account, enter your password, tap Delete Account and confirm.
The account is deleted straight away and you are signed out. If you own a coaching account, hand it to a new owner first, or delete the coaching account from the dashboard (Settings, Your data).
No app? Ask us by email
Write to us from the email address you use with ELSE, and tell us the name of your coach or gym so we find the right account.
Email a deletion request[email protected]
Before deleting anything we write to the email address of the account and wait for your reply, so nobody can delete an account that is not theirs. We delete it within 30 days of your request and write back when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your profile: name, nickname, email address, phone number and photo, and your sign-in.
- Your progress and check-in photos, workout photos and form uploads.
- Your chat with your coaching team: every message, photo, video, voice note and file in it.
- Your form and check-in answers other than your weight, your height and your 1 to 10 scales: everything you wrote or picked (text, choices, dates, other numbers), uploads and photos; your coach’s notes on them; and the notes on your workouts.
- Your nutrition onboarding answers (sex, birth date, allergies, diets and foods you dislike).
- Your nutrition profile (birth date, sex, height, weight, goal, allergies and food preferences) and your grocery lists.
- What your coaching team kept about you: your client details (birth date, gender, tags, custom fields), notes, open tasks and the timeline.
- Your devices for push notifications and your notification settings.
- Payment claims your gym never approved: their receipt photos, transfer references and notes.
- The notes you wrote on payment claims.
What your coach keeps without anything that identifies you
- Your workouts and sets, your training plans and your own routines (renamed “Own routine”).
- Your habits and their daily ticks, your meal plans and the meals you logged (a meal you typed is renamed “Custom meal”).
- Your weight and height answers, and your answers on 1 to 10 scales, in forms and check-ins.
- That a coach reviewed a check-in or did a task for you, so their own work still counts.
These move to a new archived record called “Deleted client”, separate from the one that keeps the payment records, with no name, email, phone, birth date, photo, sign-in or anything you wrote, so it is kept with nothing that identifies you. Names your coach gave their own programmes or forms stay as they wrote them. Your coach uses it only for statistics, for as long as their ELSE account exists; it is deleted with that account’s records.
What your coach keeps for their accounting records
- Invoices, payments, refunds and the subscriptions you bought: amounts, dates and payment method.
- For each payment your gym recorded: its transfer reference and the receipt screenshot you sent as proof. These can show your name and your InstaPay or Vodafone Cash handle or account details, and are kept with the payment.
- An entry in the gym’s audit log saying that the account was deleted, with no name or contact details.
Your coach keeps these for their accounting records under an archived record called “Deleted client”, with no name, email or phone in your profile. They are kept for 5 years after the payment, then deleted.
If you work in a coaching team
Deleting a coach’s or staff member’s account removes their profile, sign-in, devices and notification settings. The messages they sent to clients and the records they made stay with the gym, shown as from “Deleted user”.
